Students apply for a VOE at the Receptionist’s desk, just inside the front entrance of Clear Springs. Verification of Enrollment is needed when you want to get your driving permit. Attendance is determined by the previous semester.
Three tardies = one absence in a class. The Fall semester cut off is eight absences. If a student has more than eight absences, the VOE will be denied. If a student is denied in Fall semester, he/she can reapply in the Spring semester. Spring semester attendance will be reviewed at the end of May. Appeals may be made for special circumstances.
Appealing for Credit Texas Law states in order to receive credit in a class, students must be in attendance for a minimum of 90 percent of the days the course is offered. Students whose attendance is between 75 and 90 percent in a class during the days the course is offered will be provided the procedure to petition for the awarding of class credit. Students who miss over eight days in the Fall semester will need to appeal for credit. Students who miss over ten days in the Spring semester will need to appeal for credit.
Please send a written note with your student first thing in the morning stating the time and reason for dismissal. The student will receive a pass to leave class at the designated time. If the appointment occurs after school has started, please contact the attendance office for procedure.
Three school days. Notes concerning absences must be turned in to the Attendance Office.
After five missed school days
Skyward can be checked to see in which class the student was marked absent. Your student can visit with that teacher the next school day or you can email the teacher directly to inquire. Absences due to school related activities will be corrected by the Attendance Office within two school days.
